Artistic Endeavors - from palette to kiln

Artist

“Weston/de Kooning” art program throughout the grades

“Have you ever experienced something so intensely that you have wanted to share that experience with others?” You have been where art begins.

Art, like life itself, must simply be experienced. The greatest gift you can give a child is that of a new experience.

Under the school-wide theme of “We Are Family”, the art room will be translating such through an in-depth investigation of three generations of Weston photographers and Willem and Elaine de Kooning. The specific focuses are outlined below for each grade level. It is shaping up to be a year of fantastic artistic adventures.

Work from all grade levels will be  part of the art show to be displayed during Open House, May 18th, 2006.

Please feel free to drop by the art room to witness the imaginative, creative output and excitement bouncing off both the tables and the walls on a daily basis.

Read an overview of this year's art curriculum. (Acrobat Reader required to view.)

"There Are No Mistakes, Only Happy Accidents,"
is an important credo that exists within
the nooks and crannies of the art room.
