| Sue Slotnick,
Director of Instutitional Advancement | | In
keeping with the Board of Trustees' commitment
to ensuring the well being of Village School, it was decided in 2001 to create
an Office of Institutional Advancement. Sue
Slotnick was hired as the Director, and is responsible for the oversight of
fundraising, volunteerism, community service,
alumni relations, neighborhood relations, public relations,
marketing and outreach. Unlike most development offices, the Village School Office
of Institutional Advancement has a more far-reaching impact on the future of the
school as an educational institution that is held in high esteem by individuals
inside and outside our community. | |

The
Annual Fund Campaign: A Tradition of GivingThe
2005-2006 Annual Fund Campaign is now underway. As with all other non-profit independent
schools, Village conducts this campaign to help to bridge the gap between tuition
revenues and the actual cost of providing a first-rate private school education.
Village School depends on this tradition of giving to enhance all of its programs,
thus enriching the academic, creative and ethical development of each student.
The fund helps to support an environment in which our children flourish and experience
the joys of learning. With tuition covering only a portion of the school's expenses,
annual giving is a vital link between making our dreams for our children a reality.
Last
year's campaign was an enormous success, including gifts from 99% of our families
and 100% of our faculty and staff. We are fortunate to have faculty and
staff who not only educate, nurture and support our children, but who also choose
to make an additional investment in them by contributing to the Annual Fund. All
contributions substantially enhance the school's programs and facilities, including
supplementing teacher resources, expanding the use of technology, upgrading the
physical plant and providing competitive compensation packages to our faculty.
