Welcome

Summer Reading 2007 - Reading log and Book Suggestions by grade level.
Our Library Catalogue is available online if you
are on campus.
The
mission of the Village School Library is to provide information that supports
the curricular needs of the students, faculty and staff. This information
will be provided through a core collection of reference and circulating materials
and supplemented by online resources. The collection strives to meet the
school's educational goals as well as the diverse interests and cultures of the
school's population and promote an appreciation of literature and love of reading.
The library program strives to develop the knowledge and skills of students so
that they can effectively retrieve, use and evaluate materials in any library.
Students
from grades TK-5 attend library classes once a week. This is a time to hear
stories and books read aloud, check out books, learn how to use the library and
how to do research. The library has six student computers and the Village
School Library catalog can be accessed from these computers or any other computer
in the school. The collection consists of over 10,000 items including books,
videos, CD-ROMs, audio recordings and other media. A student and professional
collection is available. The Library computers can also be used by students to
do Internet searches and work on research projects.
