 TK students look through magazines to create collages all about themselves.  They are practicing their cutting skills and also creating something that tells about them.

The listening center is one of the children's favorite center time activities.

TK students LOVE completing puzzles independently and in groups.

Students have fun in the TK Store!  They shop for items and use real money to purchase them.  The TK store is just one of many dramatic play areas that are set up throughout the year.

TK uses the LETTERLAND program to learn the sounds each letter makes.  Golden Girl is one of TK's favorites.

In math students explore the many different ways to make 10!

Students draw on a vertical surface to help strengthen the muscles in their arms and to practice holding the crayon correctly.

Students play a fun math game to work on identifying and counting coins.

TK students use geoboards to create symmetrical patterns.

During cooking, students create a colorful fruit salad.  They are strengthening their fine motor skills by cutting, using their math skills to count, and learning the correct order of the colors of the rainbow.

TK students make volcanoes in science!

TK students learn to read sight words throughout the year.  These two students are doing an activity to help reinforce what they have learned.

TK students enjoy building with blocks.  In this picture two students work cooperatively to build a structure.  After they are done, they will measure its height and width.

Students are making Magic Muffins.  They are reading directions, measuring, and comparing the smell, taste and feel of the ingredients.

This students is exploring mixing colors.  He is predicting and then checking his predictions.  "What happens when I mix two drops of yellow with one drop of green?"

Look at this student's beautiful pattern wall!

TK students spend the year learning how to get their ideas down on paper.  This student used her phonetic spelling skills to write, "This weekend I stayed up late and I watched Hair Spray.  It was fun."

These are just a few activities and projects the TK students do throughout the year.  Their day is filled with meaningful activities, centers, lessons, and play.  To learn more about what students might do during a typical week, take a look at the latest version of the TK TIMES.
